We2Wyrdwood Botanicals is a Somerset based herbal medicine clinic and Apothecary run by

Medical Herbalist Nik Hiscock (MNIMH)

What is a Medical Herbalist?

Medical herbalists make use of plants whose traditional uses are backed up by modern scientific research and clinical trials. All members of The National Institute of Herbal Medicine (NIMH) hold a BSc degree or equivalent in Herbal Medicine, have studied orthodox medicine as well as plant medicine and are trained in the same diagnostic skills as a GP. However, herbalists take a holistic approach to illness, treating the underlying cause of disease rather than just the symptoms. They are able to prescribe herbal remedies to be used alongside other medication and treatments, and many patients are referred to a herbalist by their GP for treatment (NIMH 2022)

Further information about herbalists in your area or what happens during a typical consultation can be found at;

Nik Hiscock (MNIMH, MUKIMPR)

Home Herbal Medicine & First Aid Box ~

Although herbal remedies should not precede or replace the basic principles of first aid, such as cooling a burn with water or seeking emergency medical attention for more serious injuries such as fractures, the standard contents of this box are intended to cover the majority of common minor injuries including muscular or joint sprains & strains, bruises, wounds, burns, insect bites and stings.

These kits can be further tailored to include a range of herbal remedies most relevant to the specific needs of an individual or group. This may include conditions such as indigestion, hay fever, coughs, colds & flu, sinus congestion, headaches, period pain or travel sickness.

To ensure safety a short consultation (20 minutes), either online or in-person, is included in the cost of the medicine box to establish any allergies, any prescribed or over-the-counter medications that may have interactions with specific herbs, any other medical conditions (for example; high blood pressure, diabetes, seizures or pregnancy) as well as to optimise the effectiveness & appropriateness of each herbal remedy for the individuals it is intended for.

Full instructions on recommended uses of each product is included.

Please note this comes in a sturdy cardboard box, is not intended to replace a basic first aid kit and does not include first aid sundries such as bandages, plasters or other dressings.

Cost of standard first aid boxes start at £35.
